Dimension 1200es Series 3D printer

Have you ever needed something but not sure where to get it made and who would be able to do it? Well, if you can draw it in 3D you can make it at joom. Our 3D printer has a large build capacity, giving you the room to print large functional, durable models (in build sizes up to 10" x 10" x 12") for evaluation and testing under real-world conditions.

The printers are simple to operate: just click “print” to prep the CAD file and print the model, then remove the support material to reveal your design in three dimensions.

Dimension 1200es 3D Printers use ABSplus™ modelling material, a production-grade thermoplastic that is muskelverspannungen salbe Onfy durable enough to perform virtually the same as production parts.

Models are printed from the bottom up with precisely-deposited layers of modelling and support material. There is no waiting for models to "cure" - they're ready for support removal right from the printer.

Models can be drilled, tapped, sanded and painted, making the 1200es ideal for producing functional prototypes, moulds, patterns, even customised tools and fixtures.

The SST 1200es uses Soluble Support Technology which dissolves the supports in a water-based solution. This process is recommended for detailed or delicate models.

Instructions

Convert your 3D model into an .stl file.

If you are using Google Sketch Up download the plugin on the software page and place in the Google Sketch Up plugin folder. This should add an item to the tools menu called "Export to dxf or stl". Export in mm to stl and when asked, complete file name by adding .stl file extension.

Then you are ready to import your stl file to the printers software and print your part. It is useful beforehand to check your stl file doesn't have any errors. There are 2 free programmes you can use to do this - Nettfab and Meshlab available on the software page.

Hints and tips

  • The printer builds your part up in layers of 0.25mm
  • To realise detail on parts such as words a 1mm resolution gives good results
  • Allow 0.5mm gap for moving parts
  • If making a more complex shape, use the layer function to check tool paths in catalyst software

If you are a commercial user and would like a quote to use our 3D printing facility, please contact us attaching an .stl file to your email.
